Prof. Dr. Yaşar Sümer Yamaner was born in Trabzon on October 23, 1962. He received his medical degree from Istanbul University’s Istanbul Faculty of Medicine in 1986. In 1992, he completed his specialist training in the Department of General Surgery at the same institution.

Following his military service, he fulfilled his mandatory service in 1993 at the Rize Fındıklı Regional Goiter Research and Treatment Center. In 1995, he joined the Department of General Surgery at Istanbul University’s Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, where he continued to advance his academic and clinical career. He became an Associate Professor in 1998 and achieved the rank of Professor in 2004.

Prof. Dr. Yaşar Sümer Yamaner currently practices in the Department of General Surgery at Florence Nightingale Hospital in Istanbul. He is an active member of leading international societies, including the European Association for Endoscopic Surgery, the American Society of Colon and Rectal Surgery, and the International Society of Surgery. His global affiliations reflect his commitment to continuous advancement in surgical practice and his contributions to international surgical knowledge.
