Prof. Dr. Alaettin Çelik is a distinguished Pediatric Surgeon with an extensive academic and clinical background spanning several decades. He graduated from Haydarpaşa High School in 1966 and earned his medical degree from Istanbul University, Istanbul Faculty of Medicine, in 1972. After completing his short-term military service at Gallipoli Military Hospital in 1975, he obtained his General Surgery Specialization in 1977.

Between 1978 and 1980, Dr. Alaettin Çelik served as a Specialized Assistant (Registrar) in the Department of Pediatric Surgery at the University of London, The Hospital for Sick Children (GOS). In 1982, he became an Associate Professor and was appointed as the founding Chairman of the Pediatric Surgery Department at the Istanbul Faculty of Medicine. He received the title of Professor in 1988 and later served as the Head of the Department of Surgical Medical Sciences at Istanbul Faculty of Medicine between 1995 and 1998.
