Dr. Kanay Yararbaş is a distinguished specialist in Medical Genetics and Clinical Laboratory Genetics with more than 23 years of combined clinical, academic, and laboratory experience. He completed his medical education at the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, graduating in 2000 with a Doctor of Medicine degree. His early professional pathway included service as an Orthopedics and Traumatology Assistant at Ankara Numune Training and Research Hospital, where he gained foundational clinical competencies before transitioning into the field of genetics.

Between 2002 and 2006, Dr. Yararbaş completed a comprehensive Medical Genetics training program at the Ankara University Faculty of Medicine, marking the beginning of his long-term academic and clinical commitment to genetic sciences. From 2007 to 2011, he fulfilled his military service at the Istanbul Bakırköy Gynecology and Childhood Training and Research Hospital, further broadening his exposure to inherited pediatric and gynecologic disorders.

Over the following years, Dr. Yararbaş held significant roles across respected institutions, including Layout Laboratories, Acıbadem Healthcare Group, and the Florence Nightingale Hospitals Group, where he contributed to the development and application of advanced diagnostic genetics. In 2018, he earned the Clinical Laboratory Genetics Board Certification from both the European Society of Human Genetics (ESHG) and the European Board of Medical Genetics (EBMG), a credential recognizing his proficiency in laboratory-based genetic diagnostics at a European standard.

In 2019, he received a promotion to Associate Professor, reflecting his academic productivity, scientific contributions, and commitment to training the next generation of medical genetics specialists. He currently serves as the Head of the Genetic Diagnosis Centre at the Florence Nightingale Hospitals Group and the Head of the Department of Medical Genetics at Demiroğlu Bilim University Faculty of Medicine. His leadership roles also include serving as Chair of the Quality and Accreditation Commission of the Turkish Medical Genetics Association and as a member of both the Cancer Commission and the Health Council of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey.

In 2020, he established Private Sapiens Genetics and Health Services Inc., an institution dedicated to advanced genetic analysis, patient-specific diagnostics, and precision medicine applications.
