About Dr. K. R. Vasudevan Dr. K. R. Vasudevan is a distinguished Surgical Gastroenterologist and Liver Transplant Specialist, currently serving as the Director of the Department of Liver Transplant at Max Super Speciality Hospital (formerly Jaypee Hospital), Noida. With more than two decades of clinical experience, he is recognized for his leadership in establishing and scaling liver transplant programs across leading institutions. He completed his MBBS (1998) and MS in General Surgery (2002) from Goa Medical College, followed by a DNB in Surgical Gastroenterology (2008) from the National Board of Examinations at Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, New Delhi. Having trained at some of India’s and the world’s most advanced transplant centers, he rapidly progressed to leading multidisciplinary transplant teams within just 12 years. Dr. Vasudevan played an instrumental role in setting up and sustaining a comprehensive liver transplant program at PSRI, leveraging his extensive experience in over 1200 live donor liver transplants. At Jaypee Hospital, he co-created a full-fledged liver transplant department, successfully achieving 50 transplants in the first year. He has also served as an academic coordinator and mentor to DNB fellows, contributing significantly to medical education in the field.
