Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bozbuga is a distinguished neurosurgeon with more than 35 years of advanced clinical, surgical, and academic experience. He currently serves as the Director of the Nerve and Brain Surgery Unit at NP Brain Hospital Istanbul, where he leads a highly specialized department focused on complex cranial and spinal neurosurgical interventions. He practices in both Turkish and English and is particularly recognized for his expertise in pituitary adenoma, neck diseases, neuro-oncology, and spine surgery.

He completed his medical and surgical training at the University of Istanbul, obtaining his MD degree between 1985 and 1991. In 1993, he graduated from Zurich University Hospital with a specialization in neurosurgery, strengthening his academic foundation in one of Europe’s leading neurosurgical centers. Between 1988 and 1989, he pursued an advanced micro-neurosurgery course at the University of Heidelberg under the mentorship of the globally renowned neurosurgical pioneer, M. Gazi Yasargil, which significantly contributed to the refinement of his microsurgical proficiency.

Prof. Dr. Bozbuga expanded his international training by completing a fellowship in microneurosurgery at George Washington University between 1993 and 1994. His early academic contributions include serving as a researcher in brain surgery at Kartal Training and Research Hospital in 2001. He later joined the University of Trakya as an adjunct professor in 2008, where he contributed extensively to neurosurgical education and academic development.

His leadership roles in major medical institutions reflect his depth of expertise and influence in Turkish neurosurgery. In 2015, he was appointed Director of the Department of Neurosurgery at Hisar Intercontinental Hospital, Istanbul. He then served as Chief of the Neurosurgery Division at Medical Park Gaziosmanpaşa Hospital in 2018. Since 2019, he has been directing the Nerve and Brain Surgery Unit at NP Brain Hospital Istanbul, overseeing a broad spectrum of advanced neurosurgical services.
