Dr. Umit Koç is a senior General and Gastroenterology Surgeon in Istanbul, distinguished by 22 years of clinical, surgical, and academic experience. He currently practices at Istinye University Bahçeşehir Liv Hospital, where he continues to contribute to advanced surgical care, particularly in gastrointestinal, bariatric, and robotic surgery.

His early education reflects an international and diverse background, beginning at Augsburg and Mersin Gazipaşa Primary School, followed by Mersin Tevfik Sırrı Gür High School. He pursued medical training at the Çukurova University Faculty of Medicine, completing his medical degree between 1993 and 1999. His expertise in modern surgical technologies was further strengthened through his participation in the Da Vinci Robotic Surgery Certification Program, where he carried out Robotic Tumor Surgery operations in over 107 cases at Antalya Training and Research Hospital in 2016.

In 2019, Dr. Umit Koç commenced his academic career at Istinye University Bahçeşehir Liv Hospital, contributing extensively to surgical education and high-complexity clinical practice. Since 2021, he has also served at Memorial Şişli Hospital in Istanbul, continuing his practice as a highly experienced surgeon.
